Discovery Place Kids offers field trip opportunities for groups of children from Pre K through Grade 5. Programs are designed to enhance classroom education and provides students the opportunity to develop fine and large motor skills, expand their imaginations and improve social skills.

Plus any applicable sales and use taxes. *Due to space limitations, extra chaperones will not be able to attend class programs. Field trip pricing is reserved for state-certified pre K-12 schools with a minumum of 15 students.


Chaperones

One adult chaperone is required for every 5 students and admitted free. Additional chaperones will be charged the fees in the chart above. To ensure all students' safety, chaperones must always stay with their group.

Lunch Options

There is no food or drink service at Discovery Place Kids. Picnic facilities are available at nearby Hinson Lake Park, 152 Hinson Lake Road, Rockingham. To reserve picnic space, please call 910.895.6810.

  • Registration and Payments

    Click here to fill out our Reservation Request Form and a Museum representative will contact you.

    Register by phone at 803.784.2346 x300 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.

    Payment is required 3 weeks prior to program or visit date.

    American Express, Discover, MasterCard and VISA are accepted. A check with your PO number written in the memo section is also accepted.

  • Cancellation and Refund Policy

    Cancellation notice of three weeks is required for a full refund. Cancellations with less than three weeks’ notice are non-refundable but may be rescheduled for a visit within a 12-month period. There is no fee for rescheduling as long as the class or visit is rescheduled within one week of the cancellation date and the visit is completed within the 12 months of the originally scheduled date. Changes to the number of attendees must be made three days prior to the program or visit to receive a refund. No refunds will be issued the day of the visit, and no refunds will be issued for amounts of $10.00 or less.

  • Parking

    Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Museum as available. Ample additional parking is available within 2 blocks of the Museum.

  • Chaperones

    One adult chaperone is required for every 5 students and admitted to the Museum for free. Additional chaperones will be charged the fees in the chart above. To ensure the safety of all students, chaperones must stay with their group at all times.

    Due to space limitations, extra chaperones may not be able to attend class programs.

  • Directions for Buses

    Bus entrance and parking is accessible via Hancock St. Bus unloading zone is located on Lawrence St.
