From art to animals and cooking to LEGOs, Summer Camps at Discovery Place Kids keep little minds growing. Campers build confidence and creativity through hands-on activities, art, stories, science experiments and games.


  • All Camps are half-day and run from 9:00 a.m. - noon or 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
  • Lunch Bunch Care is available for Half-Day Camps from noon - 1:00 p.m. for $25 per week.
  • For Grades 1 - 2, combine two Half-Day Camps for a full day of Camp and receive Lunch Bunch Care at no additional charge.
  • Extended Care is available from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 - 5:15 p.m. for $75 per week.

  • I've registered. What's next?

    Send in the Emergency Medical & Release Form at least two weeks prior to the start of camp. This form is REQUIRED. Your Camper will not be allowed to attend Camp until we have a completed form.

  • Where do I go? What do I do?

    Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville is located at 105 Gilead Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.

    Park in the Huntersville Town Center Parking Deck — it’s free! — located directly behind the Museum. The Parking Deck is accessible from both Old Statesville and Gilead roads.

    Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the start of Camp. Parents/guardians should escort Campers to the Learning Garden entrance, located between the Parking Deck and the main entrance to the Museum. There will be signs and staff to help you identify the drop off location. Please remember, if your Camper is age 2, then an adult must also participate in the Camp.

    The pick-up location is the same as the drop-off location. All adults must present a photo ID when collecting Campers. Only adults listed on the Emergency Medical & Release Form will be authorized to pick up a Camper.

  • What should I bring to Camp?

    • Campers should pack a nut-free snack and an easy-to-open-and-close drink bottle.
    • Campers should wear comfy clothes that say, “I’m ready to dance, create, learn and play!”
  • What does Lunch Bunch Care or Extended Care include?

    • Lunch time supervision is offered free of charge from noon – 1:00 p.m. when booking a full-day Camp or one morning and one afternoon Camp during the same week.
    • Lunch Bunch Care is available for half-day Camps from noon - 1:00 p.m. for $25 per week.
    • Extended Care is now available from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 - 5:15 p.m. for $75 per week.
    • Children will bring their own lunch and/or snack and participate in board games, simple crafts, watch movies or other activities as planned by the extended care team.
  • What is the cancellation policy?

    • Cancellations prior to 3 weeks before the start of Camp will be subject to a $35 processing fee per child, per Camp. There are no refunds for Camps that are cancelled with less than 3 weeks notice before the start of the Camp.
    • Programs with low enrollment 3 weeks prior to the start date are subject to cancellation.
    • If cancellation occurs, the family will be notified and given the opportunity to select another Camp or receive a refund.
