Travel the world this month at Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville

Discovery Place Kids Huntersville

Get your passports ready – we’re headed to all of Earth’s places at Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville!

From the depths of the Atlantic Ocean to the top of Mount Everest, our planet has so many amazing locations. This month, join us on a trek around the world as we explore natural and man-made places of all shapes and sizes.

Are we there yet?

We’ll kick things off during the first half of March by learning about each of the continents that Begins with the Letter A – Asia, Africa, Antarctica and Australia. The “A” continents hold the answers to many questions we’ll be posing this month, including where to find the largest city in the world, the largest desert and which continent is also considered an island.

The second half of the month will be spent Counting Countries as we attempt to name all 79 countries that make up North America, South America and Europe. We might not be able to explore every single country, but we will learn a lot about the different kinds of places found on each of these continents.

Party time

Don’t just travel with us this month; celebrate with us, too!

On March 3, we’re reminding guests that “you’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child” as we celebrate beloved author Dr. Seuss through all kinds of silliness and rhymes. We’ll start our Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss celebration at the Town Hall Stage where we will indulge in a silly story. Then, the wacky-ness will continue as we hop over to I CAN Create for colorful crafts.

We’re going green (us, but not our eggs and ham!) on March 17 when we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by both wearing green and sharing green – stories and crafts, that is – for this luck o’the Irish family festivity.

Daily doses of fun

As always, the Museum is chock full of other fun programming each and every day.

Be sure to check out the Three Little Pigs puppet show, which features a fun and musical twist on the beloved fairy tale.

Plus, don’t leave without experiencing our daily Science Show, where children and adults alike can predict, observe and experiment with different science topics. You never know what kind of fun we’ll be mixing up this month!
