Run for the Ribbons is an annual 5K and 1 Mile Family Fun Run that brings together runners and walkers of all ages and levels to benefit Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham’s I CAN Be Healthy initiatives and the Richmond CARE Fund to improve the health status of the community.
The race is held in April and features a challenging course through downtown Rockingham to Hitchcock Creek and back, starting and ending in front of the Museum. Registration includes free Museum admission on race day.
More than just a race, Run for the Ribbons also serves as family celebration that raises awareness and promotes healthy lifestyle choices including fitness, healthy eating and education. At the finish line, everyone celebrates at SpringFest at the Rock, a festival featuring vendors, live music and a car show.
Museum Members, students and teachers receive discounted race registration. Richmond County schools who participate are eligible to win cash prizes.
