Teach your little ones about healthy living this month at Discovery Place Kids

Discovery Place Kids Rockingham

This month, Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham is focused on teaching children the importance of being healthy – everything from the foods they choose to eat to the amount of time they spend on physical activity.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, go Nuts About Nutrition and learn healthy eating habits that help fuel your body. On Wednesdays and Fridays, Let’s Get Physical on our Sandhills Stage, where kids can get a better understanding of the importance of building strong muscles and bones while getting their bodies moving and hearts pumping.

Visit the Museum on weekends and get schooled in Germology, a program that teaches youngsters how germs make us sick and what it takes to keep them away. Kids will learn proper hand-washing techniques and other healthy habits.

Plus, strap on your running shoes for a special event on April 13 when we Run for the Ribbons. The family celebration raises awareness and promotes healthy lifestyle choices through a 5K and 1-Mile Family Fun Run. All proceeds benefit the FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital Foundation and Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham. We hope to see you there!
