Spring into fitness at Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham

Discovery Place Kids Rockingham

As the weather gets nicer and days get longer, it’s the perfect time to focus on what keeps us healthy – from the exercise we take part in to the foods we consume. This month, Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham will continue along its healthy journey as we spring into fitness at the Museum.

On the daily

Join us daily at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for various Spring into Fitness activities and shows. Depending on the day, you may find yourself and your little ones participating in yoga and mindfulness activities or heart and nutrition focused presentations.

Plus, you can always get a little added exercise with our daily doses of Big Fun, where our guests are invited to boogie and shake with us at the Sandhills Stage as we dance and sings to songs that are sure to keep you moving.

Family affair

On March 21, we’ll ramp up our fitness goals by hosting a special Fit Families session at 2 p.m., where FirstHealth Fitness-Rockingham will share healthy body tips and ways to make fitness fun for the whole family.

Rev up for Run for the Ribbons

If you are feeling especially lofty in your fitness goals this year, join us in training for our annual Run for the Ribbons 5K & Family Fun 1K that takes place in April.

This month, we’re hosting special Rev Up training sessions to get you revved up for the race – and they’re free! Meet us at Hitchcock Creek on March 3 at 3:30 p.m.; March 18 at 10 a.m.; and March 31 at 3:30 p.m. for 2-mile training walks/runs that will help prepare you for race day.

As an added bonus, enjoy $5 off your registration or $2 off Museum admission for participating in all three training sessions. On your mark, get set, go!
