Get ready for a new school year at Discovery Place Kids! Join us this month as we celebrate the last weeks of summer and prepare for a new school year.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, participate in hands-on programs to identify letters through stories, games and more with Learning Letters. On Wednesdays and Fridays, see what makes the colors red, yellow and blue so special as we experiment in the Lab with Color Mixing.

August 5 & 6: Smart with Art -

Did you know meaningful art activities support brain development? Engage all your senses this weekend as we create art and develop skills in expression and creativity.

August 10: Countdown to Kindergarten -

Get ready to go back to school with Discovery Place Kids! Help your child launch into their future at Countdown to Kindergarten, a FREE family event dedicated to helping rising Kindergartners prepare for their first day of school! Come learn about healthy snacks, how to board a school bus, practice scissor safety, and explore a mock classroom!

August 12 & 13: Shapes & Numbers -

Circles, triangles, and squares are everywhere! How many can you find? Let’s use our counting skills to find shapes in our Museum.

August 19 & 20: Fun in the Sun -

Little guests will use UV beads to learn about the power of the sun and its rays.

August 26 & 27: 1,2,3 Follow Me! -

We are learning about following directions through music and games. Our early learners will participate in songs such as “Hokey Pokey,” “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” to become active listeners.
