Discovery Place Kids Rockingham

Tbox 145

What moves you? This month, we’re exploring Newton’s Laws of Motion and learning all about the forces behind them. Little scientists will investigate why and how things move!

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, find out how to make a Swirling Vortex with a trash can, a little theatrical smoke and some imagination. On Wednesdays and Fridays, discover how many breaths it takes to fill an 8-foot Bernoulli Bag.

Additional activities this month include:

September 10: Accelerating the Masses - Do you have a need for speed? Let's explore Newton’s second Law of Motion!

September 11: Grandparent's Day - Celebrate our grandparents by making beautiful cards to thank them for all they do.

September 18: Pop Rockets - What happens when we mix two chemicals together in a small space? Little guests will blow the lid off Newton’s third Law of Motion.

September 24: Johnny Appleseed - Johnny Appleseed was an American folk hero who planted apple trees all across the United States. Celebrate his life by learning about his accomplishments and tasting different types of apples.

Please note: Discovery Place KIDS will be closed September 6 - 9 for annual maintenance. The Museum will re-open September 10 with new hours:

Tuesday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
