Dive into life 'Under the Sea' with ocean activities throughout June

Discovery Place Kids Rockingham

Tbox 142

Take a plunge in the ocean this month! Discovery Place KIDS is staying cool even in the hot months of summer by exploring ocean life and what makes the creatures that inhabit its waters so important.

Investigate sharks, take the octopus challenge and create ocean animals as you become a voyager of the sea.

Join us during Story Time as we dive into books about our friends under the sea, including Secret Seahorse by Stella Blackstone, Commotion in the Ocean by Giles Andreae and I'm The Biggest Thing in the Ocean by Kevin Sherry.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, compete in our Ocean Olympics to see if you have what it takes to survive under the sea.

Are you smarter than an octopus? Find out on Wednesdays and Fridays as we compare our problem-solving skills to those of a clever cephalopod.

Additional activities this month include:

June 12: Seashell Science - Learn about different animals that use shells for protection and get hands-on with our collection of shells.

June 19: Father's Day - Make a special gift for your father, or for someone who is like a father to you, in the Studio today.

June 25: Shark Attack - Get an inside look at a dogfish shark.
