What to do at Discovery Place Kids in March

Discovery Place Kids celebrates March with oodles of oozing Oobleck and twisting tornados

Discovery Place Kids Rockingham

March is the beginning of Spring, and with it comes warmer weather, longer nights and plenty of fun at Discovery Place Kids! This month we’ll be having a blast with oozing Oobleck and twisting tornadoes.

On March 6 and 7, we’re getting messy making oobleck. Stop by The Lab at 10:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. to learn how oobleck can be both a solid and a liquid!

On March 13 and 14, we’ve got the luck of the Irish as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a little early. We’ll be doing a green-themed activity at The Stage at 1:30 p.m. then guests can continue the fun down at the Art Studio for a follow-up craft.

March 20 and 21 are forecasted to bring strong currents to the Museum as we learn all about wind. Join us at The Stage at 1:30 p.m. as we try not to blow away! Then, head on down to the Art Studio to make a wind instrument.

Then, on March 27 and 28, take your weather knowledge to the next level when we explore tornadoes, which occur when warm, humid air collides with cold, dry air. We’ll be learning about vortexes and watching a tornado form at The Stage.

As always, don’t forget to join us for Big Fun, our daily dance party, and our daily Science Show to test your science know-how.
