Top Things to Do at Discovery Place Kids in May

Discovery Place Kids Huntersville

Space Adventures

What does it take to travel into space? This month, Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville will lead kids on an exploration of our solar system as we learn about how astronauts get ready for their journey. Our theme for May is I CAN Be an Astronaut, and our top things to do this month will take you out of this world.

On Tuesdays & Thursdays, we’ll use Planets by Ellen Hasbrouck as our guide to all eight planets in our solar system. Then we’ll continue exploring with “otherworldly” crafts and activities in I CAN Create. On Wednesdays & Fridays, join us as we look at Richard Harris’ The Sun and Other Stars to answer questions like “How hot is the sun?” and “Where do stars go during the day?” With hands-on activities and experiments, these weekdays will be a fun-filled space spectacular.

What’s Happening on the Weekends?

Join us at the Town Center for the best weekend kids activities. Each activity starts with a special story at 11:15 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. on Saturdays and at 1:45 p.m. on Sundays.

What Can We Do on Memorial Day?

Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville will be open on this special Monday to help remember all those who worked to make the United States of America the home we love. Join us at the Town Center at 11:15 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. for some patriotic fun!
