Forces in Motion

Discovery Place Kids Huntersville

Gravity

This month, we’re learning how force and friction can affect the motion of an object.

From gravity to magnets, join us throughout March as we experiment with pushes and pulls to learn more about the world we live in.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, experiment with Magnetic Force as we discover why magnets attract or repel certain objects. On Wednesdays and Fridays, celebrate one of our favorite authors, Dr. Seuss, with stories, rhymes and colorful crafts.

Additional activities this month include:

March 11 & 12: Gravity - Earth's gravity is what keeps you on the ground and what causes objects to fall. Join us for the story Gravity by Evan Moor and some fun experiments that will test gravity.

March 17: St. Patrick's Day - Wear your lucky green today! Our daily Story Time, Science Show and I CAN Create crafts will be centered on celebrating this holiday by experimenting with the color green.

March 18 & 19: Force - The story this weekend is Stuck by Oliver Jeffers. Join us to see how much force Floyd uses to try and free his kite from a tree!

March 25 & 26: Air Pressure - Like a Windy Day by Frank Asch & Devin Asch is the story this weekend. We’re demonstrating the force exerted by air with fun activities.
