Embark on a Dino Discovery throughout September

Discovery Place Kids Huntersville

Are you ready to ROAR? Little paleontologists will embark on a "Dino Discovery" throughout September as we use math and science activities to explore our prehistoric pals.

How long was the T-Rex? How small was the Ankylosaur? What’s the difference between an herbivore, a carnivore and an omnivore? Ask these questions and more when you join us for a month of science and learning!

Travel back in time for our daily Puppet Show, Pangea's Got Talent. Meet Denny the deinosuchus, Allie the allosaurus, Stew the stegosaurus and more in an entertaining and educational talent show.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, become a Junior Paleontologist as we get hands-on with tools of the trade. On Wednesdays and Fridays, explore scientific theories to find out what happened to the dinosaurs.

Additional activities this month include:

September 10: Grandparent's Day - Celebrate our grandparents by making a very special treat to thank them for all they do.

September 18: How Big Were the Dinosaurs? - Compare the size of your feet to a T-Rex footprint and examine dinosaur teeth.

September 22: Fall Equinox - The first day of fall signifies the start of shorter days. On this day, both day and night are equal! Stop by to hear a special story and make a fall-themed craft.

September 25: Happy Birthday Johnny Appleseed - Our favorite folk hero would be 242 years old! Let’s celebrate Johnny Appleseed's birthday with a bushel of apple activities.

Please note: Discovery Place KIDS will be closed September 6 - 9 for annual maintenance. The Museum will re-open September 10 with new hours:

Tuesday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Sunday noon - 5:00 p.m.
