Discovery Place Kids Huntersville

Butterfly Highway

The North Carolina Science Festival is a multi-day celebration showcasing science and technology all around the state. With over 400 public events and 200 school events planned across the state, Discovery Place Kids is connecting you with some of the local events happening in Huntersville!

Check out some of the exciting events Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville has planned for the 2018 NC Science Festival:

  • April 3 - Butterfly Highway: Did you know North Carolina is part of the Butterfly Highway, the migration path of butterflies? We’ll read the story Ten Magic Butterflies by Danica McKellar at Town Center at 11:15 a.m. Then we’ll head outside to the Learning Garden to learn more about how to track butterfly migration and how we can all help with their conservation.
  • April 22 - We Dig Earth Day: Come out to the Learning Garden at 11:15 a.m. to help us plant this year’s crops. Join in as we dig in the dirt and plant some seeds as we talk about ways to take care of our environment.

All activities are included with Museum admission.
