Catch the wave as Discovery Place KIDS dives into marine science

Are you ready to catch the wave of fun, learning and adventure? Discovery Place KIDS is diving into ocean life this month as we explore marine creatures and what makes the sea so important.

Reading is a splash with Story Time tales such as My Very Own Octopus by Bernard Most, The Pout-Pout Fish by Deborah Dieson and The Three Little Fishes and the Big Bad Shark by Ken Geist.

Keep swimming with our daily Puppet Show, The Shell Game, a sing-along tale the whole family will enjoy about ocean creatures who depend on each other for survival.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, learn about different animals that use shells for protection with Seashell Science. On Wednesdays and Fridays, join us for Sea Sensory Fun as we use our five senses to pretend we're at the beach.

Additional activities this month include:

July 9: Pirate Adventures - Come dressed as a pirate and join the fun! Whether you have a patch on your eye or a peg leg, we’ll have a lot of adventures.

July 17: Octopus - Did you know the octopus has his foot attached to his head? Learn about these silly invertebrates and make your own octopus to take home.

July 23: House for Hermit Crab - Little oceanographers will learn about hermit crabs through a special Story Time and see some of these critters up close.
