Brush your teeth and eat your veggies: Hands-on healthy fun throughout November
Discovery Place Kids Huntersville
This month we are taking care of our bodies and exploring ways to stay healthy.
Throughout November, kids will learn how to choose healthy foods, maintain a shiny smile and keep moving with exercise. We also will celebrate fall and Thanksgiving.
Brush up your literacy skills with fun, healthful Story Time tales, including Germs! Germs! Germs! by Bobbi Katz, The Tooth Book by Dr. Seuss and I Will Not Ever Eat a Tomato by Lauren Child.
Two new daily programs will help little learners celebrate the season and get creative with fruits and vegetables. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, join us for I Am Thankful as we make fun decorations for a Thanksgiving feast. On Wednesdays and Fridays, try your hand at Healthy Art.
Additional activities this month include:
- November 8: Germology - Discover how germs make us sick and what it takes to keep them away.
- November 14: A Healthy Smile - Join us for some fun activities that will make you want to brush your teeth.
- November 21: MyPlate, Thanksgiving Style - Cook up a yummy feast in the Café and then make a collage with food pictures to represent a well-balanced meal.
- November 25: Thanksgiving Celebration - Make a pilgrim hat. Then join us to hear the story “‘Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving.” We’ll continue our celebration by making a pumpkin dessert.
- November 29: My Healthy Body - What does it take to keep your body healthy? From healthy foods and plenty of sleep to exercise and fun, we’re talking about all the things your body needs to grow strong.
